HiFi Audio Stream is an audio file converter that allows you to stream audio. It basically allows you to convert MP3 or WAV files to a flash applet, or SWF file. When you start the conversion, the output file gets saved in a specified directory. Then the application creates a website with Flash controls on it (play and stop), along with a few Flash files. These controls can be customized, and there are different colors and shapes for the buttons.
When HiFi Audio Stream creates the websites with the controls, you can give it playback instructions. By default, the audio file will not play automatically (it will be stopped), and if you click the button it will only play once. You can change that set of instructions so that the audio file gets looped and the file starts playing as soon as the website is loaded.
The quality of the audio feed can somewhat be customized as well. You can change the bitrate, the sample rate, and the channels (mono and stereo).
In short, HiFi Audio Stream will convert any MP3 or WAV file to a SWF file so that it can be hosted on a website. If you have another application that can record audio and save it to a continuously-playing MP3 file, then you have a perfect audio streaming set-up.
